A tragic incident occurred in Kuala Lumpur when a father and two children drown during a weekend outing at Sungai Balak near Batang Kali on Sunday, May 5th.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director, reported the bodies of father and two children drown were discovered at 1:35 pm on Sunday subsequent to a brief search initiated upon receipt of a distress call at 1:09 pm.
Upon receiving the news, a team of 12 personnel from Kuala Kubu Baru came to help. With the support from the Shah Alam and Port Klang water rescue teams, they quickly responded to this incident.
Initial reports identify the deceased as Arif Fadzil Abdul Saleh, 43, and his two children, Damia, 9, and Malik, 6. They were found about 30 meters from where they were last seen. And there were also no strong water currents during the incident.
The two children had trouble in the water, so their father tried to help, but unfortunately, it ended tragically.
